The Day We Stepped Into the Den Together

Hey there, it’s Denise and Ciaran here. We want to share a bit of our journey, one that took an exciting turn on BBC One's Dragons' Den on February 8th. It's been a wild ride for us and our passion project, The Head Plan, and stepping into that spotlight was something else.

Our story began in 2020, not long after our honeymoon, when life threw us a curveball - Ciaran’s leukemia diagnosis. It was a moment that made us stop in our tracks, rethink everything, and truly understand what’s important in life.

Before all this, we were just your typical couple, diving into our careers in tech and marketing. But facing something as big as cancer has a way of reshaping your world. That’s when The Head Plan started to take shape in our minds—a way to empower not just ourselves but others too, through wellness and journaling.

Walking into Dragons' Den, we weren’t just after the money. We were looking for someone who got our vision, someone who could help us take The Head Plan further, especially across the UK and beyond. We were asking for £80,000 for a tiny slice of our dream - 5%. And guess what? We got three offers from the Dragons: Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden, and Touker Suleyman. It was surreal, to say the least.

 In the end, we shook hands with Peter Jones. There’s something about Peter's insight and experience that just clicked with us. Having him on board is more than just a business win; it’s a vote of confidence in the difference we’re trying to make.

Why We Do What We Do

Journaling has been my go-to since I was a kid. It’s always been about putting pen to paper, dreaming big, and making it happen. We started The Head Plan because we believe nobody should wait for life to shake them awake. Goal setting, personal growth, mindfulness—it’s all stuff that should be part of our daily routine, not just a New Year’s resolution.

Now, The Head Plan is more than just a product; it’s a community, a movement, driven by a mission to empower transformation.
